Q&A / Dreamy Kid

What inspires you the most?

  • My inspirations include the weather and other artists. The weather plays a huge role in how music sounds and how I’m feeling when I’m creating a track. If it’s cooler, I tend to be in a more chill laid back mood and write more sleepy tunes, and when it’s warmer my music sounds a little more upbeat and vibey! Other artists play an equally big role in the process of creating songs. Seeing how the lofi community has grown has been so amazing. Watching other artists create new things and find different sounds inspires me to be more creative and to take ownership of who I am as an artist!

If you could relive one moment in your life, which would it be?

  • One moment I would want to relive would be back when I was a little kid and had no care in the world. Me and my family would go to our favorite campground every fall and my friends and I would put on our grass stained clothes from playing football earlier that day and we would run out into the woods like the world was ours. Our favorite spot was this really cool rock formation in the middle of the woods. We would shout and cackle while we pretended we were in a fictional world of our own. Life was simple then. I wish I could have that same spirit as I did then, and honestly I don’t why we lose that spirit so I try to live with that same free spirit.

If you could tell every person in the world one thing, what would it be?

  • Life is such a gift. Don’t hold yourself back just because the world tells us to be a certain way. Live life one day at a time and let the future arrive when it’s supposed to.

What do you wish you could tell yourself five years ago?

  • If I could go back and tell that nerdy little kid a tip heading into adulthood, I would say, “Life is gonna get really hectic and It’s not gonna be easy, but never go hard on yourself because everyone is battling it with you. You’re not alone and you’re capable of whatever you set your mind to.”

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?

  • My music is like a blanket for your mind and it touches on whatever mood you’re feeling. It scratches whatever itch your brain can’t seem to get to. Whether it’s to help you study for your next exam, or help you get through a tough season of life. I hope my instrumentals provide a helping hand in your life :)
