Q&A / Kristoffer
What is your favorite season and why?
-
Every season has its own charm, but I would have to say spring. The winters here in Norway are dark, cold, and long, so when it starts to get brighter and the trees and flowers start to blossom, everything begins to feel more optimistic.
What inspires you the most? Why?
-
I get inspired by listening to music, checking out different artists, doing sessions and hanging out with talented producers/musicians, seeing and doing live shows, and simply being a part of a creative community. Also, simply having an efficient and aesthetic work environment gets me inspired.
If you could tell every person in the world one thing, what would it be
-
Treat each other with kindness and respect. Try to have an open mind and learn new things - and don't rely on social media as your main news source :-)
What do you wish you could tell yourself five years ago?
-
Learn how to produce and mix your own music right now! Until around 2019, I was mostly focusing on performing live on my trumpet and was dependent on others for producing/mixing my music. Now I work more independently with mixing and producing, which feels great - kind of a confidence boost. I wish I got into "the game" of releasing more music sooner. But you live and you learn, and I'm grateful for my jazz trumpet background, which I still bring into my music today.
How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
-
Laid back, mellow, chill, and influenced by jazz, r&b, and old-school hip hop. Mostly instrumental.
