Q&A / sftspkn
What is your favorite season and why?
-
I’d have to say that there’s something kinda perfect about summer. I get a bit nostalgic remembering when I was a kid looking forward to the end of school and the start of summer vacation. Even now I still look forward to the warm weather and long days. Being able to wear a t-shirt out is another bonus!

What inspires you the most? Why?
-
I’m not sure if I can put the things that inspire me in any particular order, but live music holds a special place. There’s so much work behind the scenes that goes into planning a live performance. And on the other side of it, being in a crowd of people that came together to see this show can be exhilarating when the energy is right.

If you could relive one moment in your life, which would it be?
-
There are small victories that I would love to relive, but a couple years ago I experienced one of the most perfect sunsets by the beach. It felt like I was looking out into the edge of the world and the ocean stretched out forever. From time to time I still find myself thinking about that sunset, so probably that.

In the last five years, what new belief, behavior, or habit has most improved your life?
-
Listening to my mom’s advice? All jokes aside, I’m learning to be a kinder person to myself. It’s always going to be a work in progress, but it’s crazy to see how a simple change in perspective can improve my mood and overall life.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
-
Instrumental tracks, usually guitar-driven. I’m never quite sure of what will come out when I sit down in front of the DAW. Sometimes it’s sleepy, and at other times it’s much more upbeat. I think the most distinctive element of my music is my guitar playing. It’s the closest thing I have to a style, and I like to think that it makes my tracks unique
